Linocut Portraits of Sydney Buildings and Streetscapes
“Kinselas on Oxford Street” by Charlie Clegg (2026)
The Artist
Working primarily in linocut, I create portraits of Sydney’s buildings and streetscapes. I capture the terraces, corner pubs and streets that carry collective histories.
Rather than aiming for perfect registration, I deliberately misalign the linoleum block between impressions. This process introduces slivers of light, colour echoes, and a subtle visual vibration.
I aim to capture the place as a portrait - the version the building would proudly hang on its own walls.
